Beginning at the age of 16, I have been a proud student of Mississippi College. From my B.A. in English Writing with minors in Political Science and Spanish, I then continued my education as an MC graduate student for a Master’s in Education; this portfolio was created as my last final project for my degree! I completed my M.A. of Education, Summa Cum Laude, May 2017.
Posted is a compilation of projects from this class, as required, as well as other resources and information that may be utilized for collaboration in education.

I am currently a 6th grade Social Studies teacher at Kirksey Middle School in the Jackson Public Schools District. I hold additional certifications in English, Mild to Moderate Special Education, and Spanish. In my free time (if and when that exists), I enjoy reading fiction and fantasy, writing songs, and playing music.
My interest of music bloomed when I was about 2. My grandmother used to live in North Carolina and when we would visit her we would go see bluegrass performances. I fell in love with the guitar instantly! From the age of 2, I was begging for a guitar. When I was finally 8, my parents gave in and got me one. I was ECSTATIC! I now also play mandolin, tenor banjo, and a little bit of upright bass, as well as instruct guitar, mandolin, and vocals when I am not instructing in a middle school content area classroom!
Music has always been my release, and it has taught me many things ~ perseverance, reward of pain, commitment, diligence, motivation, patience, passion, and to have no fear of failure.
